- Consulting Teams (board development projects) We are forming two consulting teams to help two of our grantees (an urban farming program and a youth education program) develop plans and strategies for recruiting new board members and effectively utilizing their board of directors. Two of our grantees need a strategy for transitioning from start-up board to seasoned board. Individuals with consulting or management experience at consulting firms, government agencies, or nonprofits are ideal for this role. Individuals with direct experiencing recruiting, managing, or working with boards and committees are especially needed. Time commitment will be approximately 10 hours/month for three months starting February (slightly more for team leaders). We are looking for up to five individuals per team, including one team leader.
- Consulting Team (program strategy project) We are forming one consulting team to help a grantee determine the best way to structure a new program. The grantee has launched a pilot program (a small business incubator) and needs to determine exactly what the program should offer and how it should be structured in order to be sustainable and have an impact for years to come. Individuals with consulting, management, or research experience at consulting firms, government agencies, or nonprofits are ideal for this role. Time commitment will be approximately 10 hours/month for three months starting February (slightly more for team leaders). We are looking for up to five individuals for this team, including one team leader.
- Development Working Group The Development Working Group is a new committee of volunteers that will meet once a month to plan our annual fundraiser and other events and activities to ensure we have the financial resources to fulfill our mission. Individuals with event planning, grant writing, and fundraising experience are especially encouraged to join. The time commitment will be one meeting per month (usually on a weekday evening) and a few hours a month to follow up on planning.
